hi,
thanks for signing up for my newsletter.
each newsletter will include a short creative writing piece to get my little fingers typing as well as a collection of some of my favorite items of the month. including but not limited to books, music, essays, youtube videos, recipes etc.
my only real goal is to be consistent, start conversation and avoid the trope that is the 'blog post' tone that often evades a lot of written work online.
wormhole:i go into such a craze for organizational ideas. obsidian being a favorite. notion being a favorite. here is one tutorial i that has been really helpful obsidian tutorial
following this, i have unfortunately succumbed to purchasing a notion template sold by an influencer.
books
:ponyboy by Eliot Duncan : a deliciously sad depiction of queerness, addiction and relationships. the writing style made me really think quite a bit and the last page made me gasp and cut a small hole in my heart.
music:music for lovers w/ jabu and andy paybackyawning portal's new albumanything by effe has been on my mind all winter long
video essay: Beer, Software and internet artsome notes from the video -
- "capitalism can not be criticized within capitalism"
- superflex - created 'free beer' to create these sort of open source projects such as free beer, to take a radical stance and create this counteractive movement to modern culture
- internet as a social artifact: not a medium like paint or canvas but is a means for increasing communication
-----written piece:
i dream in colors, they look like your eyes. green hues interwoven with soft blue. there is a certain kind of sweetness that matches your smile. held in your arms, a place i'm sure i'll never leave.
once again, you creep back into my daydreams, as if i ever wanted you to go.
it feels like fire, it feels like warmth, surprised i don't worry about the repercussions. you whisk away any negative thought I could have
i hope you'll be mine for more than this night spent with you. i want many nights and many kisses.
potential for play, for love and for us feels so thick in the air i can almost taste it. i can almost see it in our reality.
will it come true? if not, i'll still dream of you
